A neat place for gourmet Persian food ingredients and spices, friendly staff, easy access, no steps, with free parking by the side of street or opposite the street. I got saffron gifts after shopping bigger quantities there multiple times. Highly recommended for their vibe. Enjoy!
In a neighborhood bursting with Persian bakeries, cafes, and shops, I discovered Bahar Persian Food & Art thanks to a friend’s tip. Simple entrance with gorgeous Iranian motifs; inside is spotlessly clean and stocked with everything Iranian & Turkish: fresh Persian bread, raw & candied nuts, and fresh gojeh sabz – I was shocked to find it in Sydney! Stunning handmade art & luxury items from Iran’s cities (pricey but top quality). The young Iranian cashier and staff were all smiles, super polite, and patiently guided me. Plenty of parking, prime location, and it’s been around for nearly 30 years – one of Sydney’s first Persian stores! Only minor note: they use plastic bags (I’ll bring my own next time). Prices are very reasonable. Bought everything from bread to gojeh sabz and left buzzing with joy. Sydney’s Iranians, Turks, Arabs – this is your paradise! Felt like a piece of Iran in the diaspora. Friendly place with halal meats, staff were so patient when I asked for authentication. Was in a bind to shop for some halal meat to cook for a friend on the 27th, a lot of places were closed (I went to 3 butchers) and I didn't want my friend to have less options. I also had trouble finding some rose buds for tea and the gentleman at the register which he lead me personally. I've been there once a long time ago and they've since upgraded with a butchers section. Thank you very much for a great grocery experience!
